Howie Mandel Drew on His Face After Being Inspired by Post Malone

"People think, 'How can [Post Malone] influence you?' And he does," the AGT Judge said.

By Christopher Rosa

If you follow America's Got Talent Judge Howie Mandel on Instagram, then you know he has a wicked sense of humor. He reacts to viral TikToks better than anyone else in the game, and he isn't afraid to get creative for a laugh. Exhibit A: His May 12th appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, in which he hit the stage covered in face drawings (one said "AGT," naturally). His inspiration? Post Malone, the other Tonight Show guest for the evening who will also be performing on the May 14th episode of Saturday Night Live

How to Watch

Watch the Season 19 premiere of America’s Got Talent Tuesday, May 28 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock

"I got here early, and I got to meet Post Malone," Mandel told Host Jimmy Fallon. "He has been such an influence on me. Just to spend quality time with that guy—oh my gosh... Post Malone means so much to me. I adore him. People think, 'How can [Post Malone] influence you?' And he does."

The audience couldn't get enough of Mandel's hilarious (and obviously temporary) face drawings, which you can see in the video above. We must give him credit for commitment to the bit!

Mandel was on The Tonight Show to discuss several of his projects, including Season 17 of America's Got Talent, which premieres Tuesday, May 31 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. All the Judges from Season 16 (Simon Cowell, Heidi KlumSofía Vergara, and Mandel) are returning, as is Host Terry Crews.

"We started the first two days [of auditions], genuinely, I thought, 'This is 'gonna be a disaster this year,'" Cowell told Access Hollywood. "Everyone was terrible. And then after day three, it turned a corner, and thank God it got better and better and better. Great Golden Buzzers. Acts I've never seen before. It was interesting, the people are interesting, the stories are interesting. The talent's great. I know a lot of people say that, but genuinely, it really, really is. This show, for whatever reason, it does attract really interesting people."

Let the countdown to AGT Season 17 begin.
