While each show highlights different first responders within the Windy City, the Chicago P.D. characters often cross over to other series to investigate the legal side of a case.

Below, see the current list of actors on Chicago P.D. through Season 11.

Jason Beghe as Sgt. Hank Voight

Jason Beghe stars as Sgt. Henry "Hank" Voight, the rough and tough commander of the 21st District Intelligence Unit. Voight always wanted to become a cop, leading to a fulfilled career within the CPD. Voight works tirelessly to protect Chicago citizens, even if it demands he gets his hands dirty or he needs to work around the law to see justice served.

While Voight is known for his high case closure rate, he's also known by many criminals and fellow agents for his harsh methods that guarantee those results.

Patrick John Flueger as Officer Adam Ruzek

Officer Adam Ruzek, played by Patrick John Flueger, was a promising candidate for the Intelligence Unit from the very start, pulled directly from the Academy to hit the Chicago ground running. His ongoing relationship with his former partner Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) remains an obsession among P.D. viewers.

As one of the most complex characters in Chicago P.D., audiences love watching how Ruzek approaches an emergency, even when he disagrees with Hank or his colleagues about working around the legal system.

Marina Squerciati as Officer Kim Burgess

Marina Squerciati shines in her performance as a patrol officer and Chicago P.D. fan favorite Kim Burgess. As the Intelligence Unit's sweetheart, Burgess is endlessly compassionate and effortlessly willing to address emergencies with a tender approach that still generates results.

Burgess has gone through a lot throughout her P.D. tenure — from brutal kidnappings to PTSD — but she's always landed on her feet. Burgess is just as valuable as an officer as Squerciati is charming in her One Chicago performances.

LaRoyce Hawkins as Officer Kevin Atwater

Kim's patrols are made all the easier alongside her partner, Officer Kevin Atwater, played by the talented LaRoyce Hawkins. Having joined the police department to deviate from the criminal lifestyle of many of his relatives, Kevin is a loving and understanding officer on the team.

He's also the legal guardian to his siblings, helps employ ex-cons, and always throws himself into action to help those in need. Chi-Hards can't help but fall in love with Atwater's compassion and ceaseless attentiveness to those in need.

Amy Morton as Desk Sgt. Trudy Platt

Chicago P.D. would simply not be the same without Chi-Hard's favorite desk sergeant, Trudy Platt, played by Amy Morton. Trudy has become a staple of the NBC procedural thanks to her hilariously blunt attitude and tough-as-nails demeanor, always keeping her fellow officers in line despite her behind-the-scenes position.

After passing the detective exam twicea work-related injury prevented her from being on the front lines. That isn't to say Trudy lacks screen time; she's thankfully also half of the One Chicago power couple, "Plouch" alongside Chicago Fire's Randall "Mouch" McHolland (Christian Stolte).

Benjamin Levy Aguilar as Officer Dante Torres

After an appearance in Season 9, rookie cop Dante Torres — played by Benjamin Levy Aguilar — officially joined the Intelligence Unit in Season 10. Though he is quiet and holds his cards close to his chest, Torres is motivated by his past as a former gang member to police in the right way for his community.

Torres occasionally struggles to balance staying true to his neighborhood roots while also being an exemplary cop, but he's in constant pursuit of improvement.

Tracy Spiridakos as Detective Hailey Upton

Detective Hailey Upton is played by the dynamite Tracy Spiridakos. Upton's interest in law enforcement came from her childhood of parental abuse. She later became a cop and was partnered with Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) in the Intelligence Unit, a pairing that eventually bloomed into a relationship, marriage, and ultimately, their divorce after Halstead left Chicago.

Upton is about as tough as they come, and you can always trust her to be there when someone is in need, whether that's a civilian or one of her fellow officers.
