While fans patiently await Torres' Chicago P.D. return, Aguilar can be found with his adorable furry friend.

The Chicago P.D. Season 10 finale may have only wrapped in May, but Benjamin Levy Aguilar isn't wasting any quality time with his precious dog. And Intelligence might need to consider hiring a K-9 unit once they feast their eyes on Aguilar's pup.

How to Watch

Watch Chicago P.D. Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Fans can't get enough of Aguilar's Officer Torres and the endless action his character has brought to P.D. screens since his Season 9 introduction. He's brought exciting energy to the squad, so much so that fans were even shocked once he debuted his new hairdo in Season 10. Torres has been involved in everything from thrilling police pursuits to swoon-worthy romance plotlines. Many Chi-Hards are perched to see where his character is heading in Season 11 and beyond. In the meantime, Aguilar has been kicking it with his furry friend.

On July 12, Aguilar took to Instagram to share pics of his time spent with his dog, adorably named Papaya. Aguilar is glowing in the slideshow of puppy pics, beginning with a sweet photo of Papaya perched on Aguilar's shoulder, beaming at the camera. Aguilar included two additional pictures of his companion cheesing for the camera like a star. The actor is clearly thriving during the One Chicago hiatus with his faithful dog at his side.

"Papaya bug 🐞," Aguilar captioned the sweet IG post, prompting dozens of fellow dog lovers and Chicago P.D. fans to shower the post with praise for his precious pup. We clearly need more Papaya content!

After becoming a mainstay within the Intelligence Unit in Season 10, P.D. explored Torres' challenging upbringing, which later served as his inspiration to join law enforcement. The rookie P.D. officer is always well-intended but often allows his anger to dominate his response to high-stakes cases. Torres can occasionally drift from proper police tactics, but at the end of the day, he is committed to seeing justice served above all. Aguilar chatted with NBC Insider in October 2022 about Torres and some of the motivations behind his actions.

"I think that's what makes [Torres] a very interesting and very dangerous character because he's dangerous for the wrong people," Aguilar told NBC Insider. "He will stand up, whether it is as a police officer or as a person or as a man, to fight for what he believes in or to protect the people he loves."

"He has worked so hard to move forward from his past that it's really hard to break those cycles as a child when you come from deep trauma and broken homes," Aguilar continued. "He literally chose the opposite of what he was. He became a cop. It's literally the opposite of what he could have been. To stop people like that and to stop those cycles and to save people, and then he has this past that doesn't go away, and it keeps hunting him and it keeps being thrown in his face in different ways."
