When will new Magnum P.I. episodes return?

Magnum P.I. returns for an action-packed finale on January 3.

We can't wait to see what Magnum and his fearless crew are up to next!

Showrunner Eric Guggenheim chatted with NBC Insider about Magnum and Higgins' highly-awaited romantic union ahead of the final season. “Getting them together, at least getting them to kiss and declare their feelings for each other, we knew that was the endgame. So we got there, and then, to walk it back wouldn’t have been satisfying," he said.

Guggenheim continued, "Heading into [Season 5], we felt strongly that we had great stories. Putting [Magnum and Higgins] together just gave us some great stories and great scenes that we wanted to explore. So we went forward with it. I have to say, it is, I think, really one of the best decisions we've ever made on the show. It’s really taking us to some interesting places. It has added a whole new dimension to the show that has been incredibly satisfying. And we believe that the fans are really going to enjoy it."
