If music competition shows are your jam, then you'll love American Song Contest, now airing on NBC.

The show is based on the mega-successful Eurovision Song Contest, which hundreds of millions of people watch every year. For the unfamiliar, in Eurovision, Acts representing European countries (one Act per territory) submit an original song, and a voting process determines the winner.

American Song Contest will follow a similar formatArtists representing all 50 U.S. states, five territories, and Washington, D.C will perform an original song to compete to win the country’s vote for the best hit song.

When does American Song Contest premiere?

ASC's two-hour premiere episode was Monday, March 21. It now airs Mondays live at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

You can catch American Song Contest live every Monday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and stream episodes the next day on NBC.com.

Who's hosting American Song Contest?

Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson—who also hosts The Kelly Clarkson Show and is a Coach on The Voicewill both host American Song ContestIn a statement, Clarkson said, “I have been a fan and love the concept of Eurovision and am thrilled to bring the musical phenomenon to America. I’m so excited to work with Snoop and can’t wait to see every state and territory represented by Artists singing their own songs.”

Snoop added, "I am honored to host American Song Contest alongside my lil sis Kelly Clarkson, aka Miss Texas."

OK, so how does American Song Contest work?

Per NBC.com, a music Act "will represent each location and will perform a new, original song, celebrating the different styles and genres across America. The live competition consists of three rounds as the Acts compete in a series of Qualifying Rounds, followed by the Semi-Finals, and the ultimate Grand Final where one state or territory will emerge victorious."
