If music competition shows are your jam, then you'll love American Song Contest, now airing on NBC.

The show is based on the mega-successful Eurovision Song Contest, which hundreds of millions of people watch every year. For the unfamiliar, in Eurovision, Acts representing European countries (one Act per territory) submit an original song, and a voting process determines the winner.

American Song Contest will follow a similar format. Artists representing all 50 U.S. states, five territories, and Washington, D.C will perform an original song to compete to win the country’s vote for the best hit song.
