Kelly Clarkson isn’t going to let anything bring her down this holiday season! On December 14, 2022, the pop icon performed one of her original holiday tracks, “Christmas Isn’t Cancelled (Just You),” on The Kelly Clarkson Show. And the song’s clever lyrics about moving on will perk your spirits up just in time for Christmas.
When the song started, Clarkson stood on stage adorned with brightly-lit pine trees. “This used to be our favorite spot in this town, memories with you and me ruin it now,” Clarkson sang to an upbeat rhythm, bouncing to the music while horns accompanied her in the background.
“You ruined all my favorite things, but you won't take Christmas from me,” Clarkson continued with determination.
The song then erupted into the chorus, where Clarkson crooned powerfully about self-love. “I'll be hanging every light I find in this house, playing Christmas music so loud, this year Christmas won't be quite so blue,” she crooned. “And I'm gonna shout too much and dance in the snow, drink just enough to let us go,” she sang about living life to the fullest amidst heartbreak.
“Christmas isn't canceled, just you,” she belted before flipping into some heavenly high notes. She then repeated the witty line while continuing with some gorgeous riffs while her backup singers kept the energy going and the audience roared in applause.
