What to Know About AGT's "Unique" Duo Acero — and Their Adorable Daughter Gabriella

Duo Acero would have been right at home under the big top at a circus, and provided many firsts to the Judges during their America's Got Talent audition.

An incredible acrobatics act auditioned for Season 18 of America’s Got Talent, and the duo is straight out of a Cirque du Soleil show. The unique audition had the Judges in awe, and provided a first for AGT.

"I mean, I see muscles, but most importantly I see so much grace,” Judge Heidi Klum said. “It was so graceful how you — it was a beautiful, sideways — we’ve never seen this before. Truly unique; very, very special moment.”

Who is Duo Acero?

Describing themselves as “artists” on their Instagram profile doesn’t seem to do Duo Acero enough justice. Giselle Acero and her husband, Edison, make up acrobatic act, and admit their long relationship has played a part in how well they perform.

“To do this final movement, we have been at it more than four years,” Giselle told the judges.

The couple live in Colombia (and had a colorful exchange with Judge Sofia Vergara, who is also from Colombia) and have been together for nine years. They told the judges they’ve been performing together for eight of those years.

Besides auditioning for AGT, Duo Acero is staying very busy. They were invited to compete in the International Circus Festival of Italy this coming October, according to a post on their Instagram page, and they are performing at festivals all over the world the rest of the year.

Gabriella Steals the AGT Audition

A little girl took the spotlight away from Duo Acero, as Host Terry Crews led Gabriella out onto the stage during the audition.

“Yes, I saw her!” Vergara said. “She gave me a beautiful painting outside the theater this morning, thank you!”

After introducing their daughter, Vergara invited Gabriella to sit with her during the audition. Gabriella didn’t bat an eye at her parents' acrobatic tricks, and happily sat with Vergara.

“Amazing, thank you for being here, I’m so proud!” Vergara said. “It was sexy, it was scary, I mean, it had it all. And it’s so beautiful to see you guys together as a family doing this.”

Judge Howie Mandel appreciated the fact that the couple brought their daughter with them.

“The fact that you’re able to hang yourself out sideways with your wife standing on you, I’ve never seen that, and I don’t see any shaking and you’re so smooth,” Mandel said, joking, “Season 18 is really surprising me, and just your move of presenting the Judges with your firstborn to win the contest is a move that’s never been done before, thank you! She’s beautiful, and we accept your gift.”

Judge Simon Cowell admitted he was hesitant, but came around to appreciate the Act.

“I don’t love these kind of Acts,” Cowell said. “Having said that, that was really, really, really good.”

Duo Acero received four yes votes from the Judges, moving on in the AGT competition.
