Is Saturday Night Live New Tonight, March 9?

Here's the details on Saturday Night Live's March 9 episode's Host and musical guest.

By Samantha Vincenty

Who is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend, and is it a new episode? Check out everything to know below.

How to Watch

Watch Saturday Night Live Saturdays at 11:30/10:30c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

It's hard to believe that there are less than 10 episodes left of Saturday Night Live's 49th season, which has brought so many funny, surprising, celebrity-cameo-filled moments. After a slightly shortened Season 48, the show returned on a surprisingly heartfelt note, with Pete Davidson's cold open commentary on the Israel-Hamas war, the loss of his father on 9/11, and the power of laughter.

Subsequent shows found Bad Bunny pulling double duty as Host and musical guest, and stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze became many viewers' new favorite SNL Host in a highly-rated October 28 episode. Four-time Oscar nominee Emma Stone became the youngest member of the Five Timers Club, while former cast member Kate McKinnon returned to 30 Rock to host the holiday episode.

Who's the next Saturday Night Live host?

Josh Brolin.

Brolin currently appears in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part 2, reviving his role as Gurney Halleck. The Academy Award nominee has been acting onscreen since childhood in movies like Goonies, Milk (which earned him an Academy Awards nomination for Supporting Actor), Sicario, and True Grit. Brolin also famously played the villain Thanos across several Marvel films.

It is Brolin's third time hosting Saturday Night Live. During a March 2024 visit to Late Night with Seth Meyers, Brolin recalled starring in the first of many "The Californians" sketches co-starring Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, and Kristen Wiig.
