NBC's Grand Crew was a smash with audiences when it premiered in late 2021. Helmed by Echo Kellum and Nicole Byer, the show, as we describe, centers on a "group of young professionals [who] are all trying to navigate the ups and downs of life and love in Los Angeles. They always find time to gather at their favorite bar to 'wine down' and unpack it all."
After Grand Crew was renewed for Season 2 in 2022, Kellum told NBC Insider , "I was very ecstatic. A little surprised, but I kind of saw it coming because I knew if it was really about the chemistry of the cast, the content of the show, then we'd be in good footing."
Byer echoed this sentiment, saying, "I kept saying since we wrapped that we would get renewed for a second season. So when we got renewed I said, 'Listen to Black women!'"
The entire original cast of Byer (Nicky), Kellum (Noah), Carl Tart (Sherm), Grasie Mercedes (Fay), Justin Cunningham (Wyatt), and Aaron Jennings (Anthony) all returned for the second season of Grand Crew.
"It still definitely is work, and we definitely still get frustrated, but one thing we don't get frustrated with is each other," Tart told Today. "We all still love to come and see each other every day. We hang out in each other's trailers. We keep bothering each other, and we give each other gifts and hang out outside of work and everything."
He continued, "This show is designed for you to chill out on a Friday night with your friends, open up a bottle of wine, and maybe drink the whole bottle individually. Everybody get their own bottle of wine and drink it within the 30 minutes that the show is on.”

Grand Crew Season 2 airs on Fridays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC and streams next day on Peacock. All 10 episodes of Season 1 are also available on Peacock.
