America’s Got Talent Winner of 2023: Where Are They Now?

Catch up with the past winner of AGT and see what they've been doing since wowing the world.

By Grace Jidoun

The return of your favorite talent competition is just around the corner, bringing awe-inspiring performances by all new singers, dancers, acrobats, comedians, and impressionists. But before fully immersing ourselves in America’s Got Talent Season 19, let’s look at what the 2023 champion Act has been up to since taking home the winning prize.

Who Won America’s Got Talent in 2023?

Adrian Stoica and Hurricane

How to Watch

Watch the Season 19 premiere of America’s Got Talent Tuesday, May 28 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock

They spun around the stage in circles, happily fetched props, and charmed their way to glory and a million-dollar cash prize. Of course, we’re talking about Adrian Stoica and his brilliant pooch, Hurricane, the winners of America’s Got Talent Season 18. The duo’s routines earned the border collie and Italian dog trainer standing ovations and high praise from the Judges, who have seen their fair share of dog acts through the years. “That was bow-WOW,” enthused Howie Mandel after their Finale Act, and we couldn’t agree more.

The trainer and his adorable best friend are the second-ever dog tricks Act to win the show since Olate Dogs took home the title in 2012 during Season 7.

What have the AGT 2023 winners been doing since?

Audience members celebrating as Adrian Stoica and Hurricane celebrate with Terry Crews on stage.

After taking the winning crown of Season 18, Stoica said he’d use part of the prize money to buy sheep for Hurricane “because she’s a Border Collie, she needs to herd.” But joking aside, these two are not ones to rest on their laurels and hang with sheep all day. Instead, Stoica and Hurricane have spent their free time raising awareness for worthy pet causes and visiting no-kill adoption centers.

They also made a thrilling return to the AGT fold this winter, wowing audiences on AGT: Fantasy League, where the intelligent and hard-working Hurricane dragged his “human” out of bed and helped him with his morning routine. The audience voted the duo through to the semi-finals, though they did not secure a place in the Finale.

But the talented duo got the best consolation prize. Hurricane and fellow AGT winner Kodi Lee formed a special bond when they both performed at America’s Got Talent Presents Superstars Live in Las Vegas. On February 11, Lee serenaded Hurricane backstage with a jaunty piano version of “Who Let the Dogs Out” by Baha Men. We couldn’t help but notice Hurricane had a big doggy smile on her face the whole time.

Who is the most recent AGT winner?

While AGT is a summer show, Fantasy League bridged the gap this winter and premiered on January 1, 2024 — happily making every season AGT Season. While Hurricane and Stoica made it to the Fantasy League Semifinals under Simon Cowell’s mentorship, they did not advance to the Finale. The Rhamadani Brothers, mentored by Mandell, stole the show via the Superfan Vote, taking home the $250,000 cash prize. As fans will remember, Fantasy League marked the first time the Judges could play an active part in the competition, as they picked Acts for their Dream Teams and even took performers from their fellow mentor's teams with the power of a Golden Buzzer.

Where can I watch America’s Got Talent Season 19?

Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Terry Crews, Sofía Vergara and Simon Cowell sit at the America's Got Talent Desk for Season 19

AGT Season 19 will debut on Peacock on May 28 with a new round of auditions. Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel will resume their spots at the Judges Table, with Terry Crews again as host.

The show comes back bigger than ever, this time with a special Golden Buzzer twist. In previous seasons, both the Judges and the Host were limited to using the Golden Buzzer only once each on a single Act of their choosing. In Season 19, however, the Judges can use the Golden Buzzer twice, sending two Acts of their choice directly to the Live Shows.
