The Voice Coach Gwen Stefani shared a surprising detail on her relationship with fellow Coach and husband Blake Shelton with NBC Insider.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

When asked who she would hypothetically choose as a Coach if she had to audition for the show as an Artist herself, Stefani came clean with a confession.

“I’m gonna be brutally honest. When I first came on The Voice [in 2014], I didn’t know that Blake even existed really in the world” she admitted, in an interview alongside Shelton, Camila Cabello, and John Legend, eliciting a squeal and amused chuckles from her fellow Coaches.

“But then I did my homework and I could see that he was an amazing songwriter, and then I could see everybody falling in love with him,” she continued. Stefani fell down the same path, as she and Shelton started dating seven years ago, and tied the knot in 2021. And according to Shelton, their marriage is stronger than ever

Stefani went on to explain who she would theoretically choose as a Coach on The Voice, and the answer is not particularly shocking (albeit adorable). “I would probably have picked Blake, because I just feel like he’s so good at the show,” she said, while also adding that she was drawn to Shelton “like a magnet.” Seems like the two were made for each other from the beginning.

“See why I can’t be competitive against her?” Shelton then commented with an affectionate sigh.

The other two Coaches clearly approved of the couple's romantic interaction. "You feel the heat out here?" commented Legend, encouraging their antics. "You guys are basically going on a date right now!" Cabello said in admiration, noting they are "couple goals." "I love seeing you two together, honestly," Legend added. "Good vibes, good energy."

To see more cute moments between the couple, be sure to check out Season 2022 of The Voice, premiering Monday, September 19 at 8/7c on NBC.
