Blake Shelton Says He 'Proudly Stole' This From Kelly Clarkson

"I'm stealing as much of her creative ideas as I possibly can," the Voice Coach said about his co-chair.

Blake Shelton’s upcoming 2023 tour is going to be epic, partially thanks to a fellow The Voice Coach.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

“The stage is a bar,” Shelton revealed to Access about the setup of his tour. “People buy a bar stool to sit at the stage if you can get those tickets. And that’s the one I would want if I’m going to a concert: to be right there in front of the stage, sitting on a bar stool."

However, this idea wasn’t completely original on his part, something Shelton has no problem admitting.

“It’s a really cool concept. It’s something that I proudly stole from Kelly Clarkson,” he said without shame. “She’s busy with her show now, so she doesn’t get to tour as much. So I’m stealing as much of her creative ideas as I possibly can. And I’m not looking back, I don’t feel bad about it at all."

"Take that, Kelly!,” he added, crediting her clever-ness.

Season 23 of The Voice will sadly be Shelton’s last, meaning we will get one last chance to see the playful rivalry between him and fellow Coach Clarkson. However, the "Since U Been Gone" singer is still determined to come out on top this time. "Will I go any easier on Blake knowing it's his last season? Do you know me at all? No!" Clarkson said in an interview with NBC Insider. "Do I hope secretly that he wins his last season? Maybe. But am I going to let him have it? No! I'm going to work for my Artists, and I hope they win!"

Shelton announced his departure from The Voice in October of 2022. “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after Season 23,” he said in a statement. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people; you are the best."
