Taylor Kinney's genes sure run strong!

How to Watch

Watch Chicago Fire Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Kinney, who plays Kelly Severide on Chicago Fire, has a lookalike brother named Trent Kinney. When Trent accompanied his brother to a Hollywood Reporter red carpet event in 2012, their resemblance was uncanny, especially with their striking blue eyes. See a photo, below!

About Taylor Kinney's brother, Trent

Kinney and Trent  have a close bond. As SheKnows reports, Kinney was the best man at Trent's California wedding in 2012.

Trent works in the IT industry, and according to his company's website, he enjoys spending time with his children and dogs, cooking, watching movies, and exercising.

Kinney also has two other brothers, Adam, an engineer, and Sean, who passed away in 2008. Their parents are Pamela Heisler, a dentist, and Daniel Kinney, a banker, who passed away in 2021.

Severide had a mysterious absence during the end of Season 11 of Chicago Fire. It was later explained that he left to go investigate an arson case. This did not sit well with his wife, Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), because he didn't disclose his whereabouts to anyone.

In the Season 11 finale, Stella was determined to find her husband and get him back to Chicago, and she managed to do just that. Severide made a return in Season 12 of Chicago Fire, but going M.I.A naturally left some tension between him and his wife

In an interview with NBC Insider, Mayo talked about how the couple handled their initial interaction following his return to Firehouse 51 in Season 12.

"I imagine that it was quite tenuous," she said. "It definitely was, I think, one of the hardest conversations and one of the most emotionally-charged conversations that they've had as a couple. I think she has a lot of feelings about him just kind of leaving her in the dark, and he feels really passionately about something [arson investigation], so we'll see what happens."

She added, "Ultimately, these two characters are crazy about each other, they love each other. I think that they both are committed to doing everything they can to make it work."
