The Amazing Reason Howie Mandel Gave This AGT Finalist His Cell Phone Number

We love Howie!

The America's Got Talent Season 17 Final was dazzling. It featured A-list performers like the Black Eyed Peas, returning fan-favorites like Darci Lynne Farmer, and new champions. The Mayyas, a dance crew from Lebanon, ultimately won the competition and will headline AGT's show at the Luxor in Las Vegas.

How to Watch

But don't worry: The other AGT Finalists will surely land great gigs, too. In fact, one of them, comedian Mike E. Winfield, has a standing offer to work with Judge Howie Mandel.

Mandel revealed this on the red carpet to reporters after the AGT Final. "I ran up [to him] and I really wanna work with him and I really wanna take him on the road," he said. "And I gave him my number. My personal cell phone number. And I said, 'I really wanna work with you.'"

It's no surprise Mike E. Winfield made it to the Top 11 on AGT. His Audition, Live Show, and Final comedy sets left the Judges and audience in stitches. Comedy is notoriously one of the hardest skills to nail on AGT, and Winfield did so flawlessly every time.

Mandel made it clear earlier this season he wanted to work with Winfield down the line. After the Live Shows, he told Winfield, "I will tell you something. If you do not get voted into the Finals on September 9, I'm playing the Westbury Theater in New York. You come and open up for me."

Winfield told People magazine that he'd "follow up somehow" on Mandel's pitch. And now that they've swapped phone numbers, the sky is the limit.
