How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Backed by a gospel chorus, Judd and Roll belted out an amazing version of his chart-topping hit. After taking the stage, Judd sounded great as she gripped her duet partner's arm throughout the song.

In a video filmed on her plane and posted to Instagram, Judd addressed concerns and laid out what actually happened on stage: She was nervous! “Okay so they say don’t read the comments. I’ve read the comments,” she explained. “And I’m just gonna come clean with y’all: I was so freaking nervous. I got out there and I looked at Jelly Roll, I wanted it to be so good for him.”

Thinking back to her mental space before the start of the performance, she recalled, “I could cry right now, but I’m not going to, because I’m such a fan of his, and he asked me to sing and I said absolutely. I got out there and I was so nervous that I just held on for dear life. And that’s the bottom line.”

Though Judd didn't mention it in the video, she has been open previously about experiencing vertigo, so there are many explanations for why she might have wanted a little extra support on stage. And Jelly Roll seemed all too happy to lend her his arm!
