For the much-anticipated Christmas at Graceland special on NBC, Kacey Musgraves did a stunning rendition of one of Elvis Presley's most recognizable tunes: "Can't Help Falling in Love."

During her cover, some slow tempo piano notes played while she riffed with gentle precision. She sang with pure emotion, and hit some gorgeous high notes to wrap everything up.

What to know about "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley

"Can't Help Falling in Love" is originally a track from the 1961 film Blue Hawaii, where Presley played the lead character of solider Chad Gates. The song reached the number-two position on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1962, and in 2004, Rolling Stone placed it at the number 403 position on its "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" list.

"This adaptation of Giovanni Martini's 18th-century song 'Plaisir d'Amour' was given to Presley for his movie Blue Hawaii — hence the Hawaiian steel guitar. But this was no vacation for Presley: It took him 29 takes to nail his exquisitely gentle vocals. The song became the closing number for most of his Seventies concerts," the outlet wrote of the track.

In 2022, Parade named "Can't Help Falling in Love" as the best Elvis Presley tune in his discography. "The song is Elvis at his most vulnerable and open, with a velvety croon that seduces with a gentle, romantic approach," the outlet wrote.

"Can't Help Falling in Love" has since been covered by Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Haley Reinhart, Fleetwood Mac, Zayn Malik, Andrea Bocelli, Twenty One Pilots, and more.
