There are many moments of intense competition between The Voice Coaches, but showing up to work wearing the same outfit? That's a new one, especially on Halloween.
Season 22 Coaches John Legend and Blake Shelton seem to have had similar sources of inspiration when planning out their Halloween costumes this year, because they showed up to work in the same one, as the video above reveals.
Here's what happened: Shelton rolled up wearing a predictable fit as a cowboy, complete with an inflatable horse. Shelton then touched base with fellow Coaches Camila Cabello and Gwen Stefani, who seem to have missed the memo about wearing Halloween costumes that day.
"What the heck?" Cabello asked upon seeing The Voice's resident cowboy struggle to rein in his inflatable horse. When Shelton questioned Stefani and Cabello's lack of costume, Cabello quickly clarified that she didn't fail to deliver.
"I'm dressed up as the winner of The Voice," Cabello explained. "This is what she looks like."
Before Shelton could argue with Cabello further, which we know he'd love to do, Legend walked in wearing the same cowboy costume as Shelton.
"Blake Shelton!" Legend yelled. "I was supposed to be the cowboy! You're always the cowboy."
"What are you doing?" Shelton confusedly asked while Cabello and Stefani attempt to stifle their laughter.
But the Voice stage ain't big enough for two cowboys, and Legend insisted that Halloween is his time to shine. "I'm the cowboy today!" he said.
Watch the video, above, for more details. Matching costumes or not, this Halloween is one that Voice fans will never forget.
