Dua Lipa and Seth Meyers Go Day Drinking in the Return of Late Night's Hilarious Series
Amid many poorly-mixed beverages, the Late Night with Seth Meyers host got to "Be the One" to tell Dua Lipa how the real Houdini died.
It's time for a brand-new installment of a certain Late Night with Seth Meyers series. A series that reminds Late Night fans that, even when he steps away from his desk in Studio 8G, Host Seth Meyers is a very fun hang. That's right, "Day Drinking" returned to Late Night this week—and Grammy-winning pop star Dua Lipa joined Meyers in hoisting a few (okay, maybe more than a few).
"In honor of her new single, 'Houdini', we are gonna make this shot disappear," Meyers said, toasting with the pop star.

In what's been a huge 2023 for the singer, Dua Lipa is currently up for two Grammy Awards for her disco smash "Dance the Night" from the Barbie movie and soundtrack. How better to celebrate than with some daytime cocktails? And beers? And also shots?
Meyers kicks things off by making Dua Lipa a "Houtini" to celebrate her song. "I hope he was a better magician than this was a drink," Meyers cracked.
After the two bonded over their disdain for licorice (and the unique way Dua Lipa pronounces "bourbon"), they played a game that led to another cocktail that proved Meyers makes a much better talk show host than he does a bartender.
Then, Meyers told Dua Lipa the wild way that Houdini died. "That has to be a kink," the singer mused.
The two got progressively tipsier, as celebrities and Meyers do in every "Day Drinking" segment, the two shed their jacket and "shacket,' and they reflected on how hard it can be to drink while wearing restrictive clothing.

"No one thinks about the drunk girl," Dua Lipa told Meyers. "The amount of times that I've had to clip myself into a bodysuit, or put buttons on, or—"
"You and me both, girl," Meyers slurred in joking agreement.
