Did Sir Finally Escape? The Alarming Ending of the Newest Found Episode, Explained
Gabi Mosely might not be in control anymore, as seen on Found Episode 7.
Two decades after escaping her kidnapper, Gabi Mosely (Shanola Hampton) continues to recall the life-altering abduction on Found, airing Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
Gabi’s disturbing flashbacks come even though she’s tracked down her abductor, Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), and imprisoned him in her basement. As far as anyone else knows, Sir is in the wind, but in reality, Gabi has used him to assist in her missing-persons cases.
But now, some eight months later, Sir appears to be doubling down on efforts to break free from his basement prison, even recently turning a broken piece of wood into a weapon. On Episode 7, seemingly unnerved about Gabi’s burgeoning relationship with investigator Mark Trent (Brett Dalton), Sir tossed a food tray to disable an around-the-clock surveillance camera linked to Gabi’s cell phone.
As Gabi worked the missing-persons case of Denae Wagon, a Native American schoolteacher who decided to deliver her baby on her tribe’s reservation in Virginia, Gabi was in the dark about what Sir was up to. That led to her receiving alarming news by the episode's end. So did Sir escape?
Did Sir escape from Gabi on Found?
The subject of escape weighed heavily on Gabi’s mind as she worked her latest case, flashing back to the failed attempt she made to get away from Sir about midway into her year in captivity.
While viewing starlings fly in elaborate synchronized patterns — a phenomenon known as murmuration — through a window of a farmhouse prison, then-16-year-old Gabi convinced Sir to let her go outside to watch.
“I've come to love it here,” she told her captor. “I’m glad you brought me.”
As Sir gazed at the birds in the sky, the look on Gabi’s face revealed what she was really bent on seeing: her freedom. Gabi then made a daring dash into the woods. She ran for her life, but Sir caught her, issuing a warning that terrified her.
”I chose this farmhouse as our home because it borders an area that people pay no mind to,” he said. “Police turn a blind eye to what happens around here ... If you ever run away again, I'll make sure that your body ends up on that border. The space between, where no one will ever find you.”

The memory, while unsettling, was actually the key Gabi needed to unlock the current case. Denae was found in an area between tribal territory and land under jurisdiction of law enforcement. But there was no time to celebrate.
At this point, Trent shared alarming news with Gabi.
“It’s Sir,” he told her. “There’s been a credible sighting near your house.”
