Wynonna Judd to host Christmas at the Opry

Country legend Wynonna Judd is pumped to be hosting Christmas at the Opry on NBC.

"Get ready for a good old fashioned country sing-along, Opry-style," Judd said in a promo for the special. "It's time to celebrate the season and it's all about food, fellowship, and your faith—and we become family."

Judd also talked about what country music means to her. "We struggled, yet the music filled our living room and it made us all believe in a higher power," she said. "We had nothing, we were on welfare, and we just sang. It's been a tough year for a lot of people. I hope that somebody feels better after watching the show than they did before."

NBCU Entertainment Senior Vice President of Live Events Cassandra Tryon said about Judd's legacy, “Wynonna is one of the most recognized and lauded performers in country music. Not only is she incredibly talented, her selflessness and passion for putting the needs of others in the spotlight is unmatched."
