Despite advancing to the Top 8 with last week's Instant Save on The Voice, Kim Cruse was at risk for elimination yet again during December 6's Live Results Show.
Early on in the competition, Cruse blew the Coaches away, with Cabello confessing she was "starstruck" by the soulful crooner during Knockouts. However, the Texan's recent cover of Porgy and Bess' "Summertime" wasn't quite enough to keep her out of the Bottom 4. She was joined by fellow Team Legend members Parijita Bastola and Omar Jose Cardona and Team Gwen's Justin Aaron.
For her second Last-Chance song of the season Cruse chose Eric Carmen's "All By Myself" (famously covered by Celine Dion in 1996). Legend was moved by her near-perfect performance.
"You have done it again in this moment where you had to fight for your position on the show last week and now you have to fight again," Legend said. "You are just incredible, just so powerful, so moving. You talked about your insecurities, but I just see you powering through them with courage, with excellence, just truly one of the best singers I've been around in my life."
Unfortunately, Cruse was sent home at the end of the night with Bastola and Aaron; Cardona won the Instant Save. Despite missing out on the Finale by just one week, she ended her time on the series on a positive note.
"Although my run on the show is over, I couldn’t be happier!" she said in an Instagram caption of a photo with Legend. "Prayerfully my goal of inspiring little girls & women like me has been met. I can’t wait to see what God does next! To my coach. @johnlegend, THANK YOU! You’ve encouraged, inspired, and pushed me to be a better artist in every way! Thank you guys for every vote, share, comment, and follow! Buckle up! We’re still “crusing ❤️✨"
