Kelly Clarkson has proven yet again that she can pull off any style with her amazing voice! On her iconic Kellyoke segment on September 26th's Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer channeled her inner country side to perform a gorgeous cover of “Breathe” by Faith Hill.
Wearing a minimalist black getup and standing in front of warm golden lighting, the song started out with Clarkson singing gently over some soft, slow piano notes. “The whole world just fades away and the only thing I hear is the beating of your heart,” she crooned with emotion.
Then, when the chorus hit, the drums, guitars, and backup vocals kicked in, aligning perfectly with Clarkson’s powerful tone. “Isn’t that the way that love’s supposed to be? Just breathe” she belted, giving us goosebumps.
The song then went full circle to conclude with some subdued, airy notes. “I can feel the magic floating in the air. Being with you gets me that way,” she sighed effortlessly. Kelly Clarkson’s cover of “Breathe” was so stunning, that it literally took our breath away!
“Breathe” is a country-pop track recorded by singer Faith Hill for her 1999 album of the same name. It’s a beautiful love song, and one of Hill’s biggest successes to date. And on The Kelly Clarkson Show, we can say that Clarkson honored Hill by truly doing the song justice.
