Howie Mandel Crashed The Voice Blind Auditions To Geek Out Over Reba McEntire (Watch)

The Queen of Country has quite the super-fan.

By NBC Insider Staff

NBC delivered the The Voice-America's Got Talent crossover event we never knew we needed Tuesday evening when longtime America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel crashed Season 24 of The Voice in order to express his undying devotion to first-time Coach Reba McEntire.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

"It is so great this season to have the one and only Reba joining our Coaching panel...," began Host Carson Daly. His monologue was suddenly drowned out by a disorderly audience member shouting Reba's name over and over again.

The Coaches looked rather nonplussed...until it was revealed that the boisterous individual causing all the raucous was none other than Howie Mandel. He had taken a quick break from taping the season finale of America's Got Talent (Season 18 is now streaming on Peacock) at the soundstage next-door to get his "I love Reba" shirt autographed by the Queen of Country herself. He even got a hug! Mandel then scampered away as quickly as he had come, leaving a shocked Reba in his wake.

Howie Mandel crashes The Voice Season 24

This isn't the first time Reba and Howie have met. In fact, the pair served on the same panel when Reba took on the role of guest judge in the eleventh season of America's Got Talent back in 2016. And long before that, McEntire appeared as a guest on Mandel's shortly-lived talk show in the late 1990s shortly after she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Mind you, this is when Mr. Mandel still had a full head of hair. During that 1998 interview, she explained to the squeamish host how bulls become steers (if you catch our drift). Her fond memories of eating cooked bull testicles (sometimes known as "Rocky Mountain oysters") on the ranch where she grew up in Oklahoma prompted Howie to reply: "I'm never gonna eat meatballs again." Perhaps his faux freak-out on The Voice was his way of getting revenge all these years later.

How to watch The Voice Season 24

New episodes of The Voice air on NBC every Monday and Tuesday 8 p.m. EST before hitting Peacock the next day. Season 23 (the final go-around for OG Coach Blake Shelton) can be found on Peacock.
