On September 8, the America's Got Talent Season 12 Winner did a badass cover of "Trouble" by Elvis Presley. In the clip posted to her official Instagram page, she sang a capella in the kitchen, adding the perfect amount of grit to her voice. She was also clearly having a bit of fun with her version, channeling the King of rock 'n' roll with silly dance moves and laughing at the end of the video with her mom.

"Me .5 seconds after watching the Austin Butler Elvis movie," she captioned the post, referring to the 2022 Oscar nominated film Elvis.

What to know about "Trouble" by Elvis Presley

A blues-rock tune written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stroller, "Trouble" was first performed by Presley in the 1958 film King Creole. In the scene, Presley plays the lead character, Danny Fisher, who sings the song in order to impress a girl and is later offered a gig performing at a night club.

Presley performed the song 10 years later as the opening for his Singer Presents...Elvis broadcast concert on NBC. According to Financial Times, the performance of "Trouble" was considered to be a major comeback for Presley.

"Elvis — clad in black leather — restaked his claim to be the king of rock’n’roll after several years of tired films and tired records. Here was Elvis untamed, unfiltered, unleashed," the outlet wrote of the performance.

In 2022, Butler also performed the song in the biopic Elvis and earned an Academy Award best actor nomination for his portrayal.
