In 2013, The Voice Coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Usher and Shakira all came together for an edgy rendition of a Beatles classic. The performance started out with some rocking, echo-ing guitars as the crowd recognized the "Come Together" riff instantly. Levine handled the opening bars while playing the drums before Usher jumped in, switching his signature smooth R&B sound to a versatile gritty rock tone while dancing with the microphone.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Shelton jumped in with the second verse, his country twang matching the energy of the song, and Shakira continued the lyrics while everyone harmonized before Shelton burst into an epic guitar solo. Shakira then showed off her musical skills by rocking the harmonica while the audience went wild.

What to know about "Come Together" by The Beatles

Written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, "Come Together" is the opening track of The Beatles's iconic 1969 "Abbey Road". The origin story of the track is that John Lennon originally was asked to write a campaign song for politician Timothy Leary when he ran for California governor.  In 2010, Rolling Stone ranked "Come Together" as one of The Beatles' top 10 songs, and Ringo Starr himself even said that it is his favorite Beatles tune while on Late Night With Stephen Colbert.

The lyrics to "Come Together"

Here come old flat top
He come grooving up slowly
He got joo joo eyeball
He one holy roller
He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker he just do what he please

He wear no shoe shine
He got toe jam football
He got monkey finger
He shoot Coca-Cola
He say I know you, you know me
One thing I can tell you is you got to be free

Come together, right now, over me

He bag production
He got walrus gumboot
He got Ono sideboard
He one spinal cracker
He got feet down below his knee
Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease

Come together, right now, over me

He roller coaster
He got early warning
He got muddy water
He one mojo filter
He say, "one and one and one is three"
Got to be good looking 'cause he's so hard to see

Come together, right now, over me

Oh

Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah

Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
Oh

Come together, yeah
Come together, yeah
