Here Are the Artists Going to the American Song Contest Semi-Finals
They're one step closer to winning Best Original Song.
American Song Contest announced its first batch of Semi-Finalists during the March 28th episode, and several of your favorites made the cut. Going forward, Semi-Finalists are announced during each of the remaining Qualifying Round episodes (March 28, April 4, April 11, April 18), with the Semi-Final Rounds kicking off on April 25.
If you're not watching the music competition show (which you should be!), here's a quick breakdown on how everything works: Fifty-six Artists representing either a U.S. state, territory, or Washington, D.C. perform an original song that has to resonate with both viewers and a Jury of music-industry experts. During the first round (which takes place over five episodes, 11-12 Artists per episode), the Jury selects one Artist to advance immediately to the Semi-Finals. Three more sports are up for grabs per episode, which are determined by a mix of Jury and viewer votes.
