Who Will Win Super Bowl LVIII? The Latest Odds on Who Will Be Champ

It's almost Super Bowl time, so let's take a look at the odds.

By Matthew Jackson

EDITOR'S NOTE: The Kansas City Chiefs would go on to win Super Bowl 58. Check out the predictions in the days leading up to the big game below.

We're nearing the end of the NFL Playoffs. The Conference Championships are over, only two teams remain, and in less than two weeks they'll face off in Super Bowl 58.

So, who's got the best shot at the league title this year? Let's take a closer look at the odds.

Who's in the NFL Playoffs?

Before we take a look at the betting odds this year, let's quickly refresh ourselves on which teams we're talking about here.

In the National Football Conference (NFC), the top-ranked team for this year's playoffs were the San Francisco 49ers, who finished the regular season with a 12-5 record to earn the top seed in the playoff bracket. The Niners were followed closely by the Dallas Cowboys (12-5), Detroit Lions (12-5), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-8), Philadelphia Eagles (11-6), Los Angeles Rams (10-7), and Green Bay Packers (9-8).

In the American Football Conference (AFC), the top team was the Baltimore Ravens, with a 13-4 record and the top seed in the conference. Right on their heels were the Buffalo Bills (11-6), the Kansas City Chiefs (11-6), Houston Texans (10-7), Miami Dolphins (11-6), Cleveland Browns (11-6), and Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7).

The 49ers and the Ravens both got the week off in the Wild Card round, while the rest of the field got put through the wringer. Dallas was eliminated by Green Bay, Philadelphia went down to Tampa Bay, Detroit held on to beat Los Angeles, the Chiefs took out the Dolphins, the Bills took out the Steelers, and the Texans beat down the Browns.

In the Divisional Round last weekend, the Ravens handled the Texans while the 49ers managed to beat an upstart Packers team. Elsewhere, the Chiefs eliminated the Bills in another classic game, while the Lions took care of the Buccaneers. In the Conference Championships, the Chiefs overcame the Ravens, while the 49ers launched a stunning comeback to defeat the Lions. That means that we're in for a Chiefs-Niners Super Bowl, but who will win?

Who Has the Best Odds to Win the Super Bowl?

According to Bet MGM, the San Francisco 49ers remain the favorites to win the Big Game, but not by much. The current moneyline odds put the Niners at -115, with the Chiefs close behind at -105. Kansas City might be the underdogs, but right now it looks like oddsmakers are anticipating a close matchup.

How Close are the Super Bowl Odds?

If you want an idea of how close the odds are for Super Bowl 58 right now, just look at the spread. According to Bet MGM, the 49ers are currently +1 favorites, while the Chiefs spread odds are set at -1. It's still early, so these odds could change, but a one-point difference in spread odds means that we're anticipating a very close game indeed.

Who Won The Super Bowl?

After weeks of the 49ers being the odds-on favorites to become Super Bowl Champions, the team was upset on Feb. 11 when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated them in overtime, 25-22. The win made the Chiefs the first back-to-back champions in almost 20 years, and upset a lot of oddsmakers who were convinced it was San Francisco's year. Now, the race is on to see who'll become next year's Super Bowl favorite.
