Some of us who work at New York City's 30 Rock—home to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonare feeling like a real "American Idiot" for telecommuting yesterday amid the city's inclement weather. We may have missed out on a surprise Green Day concert right at our subway stop on January 16, but fortunately, plenty of excited fans did get to enjoy the rare show. Those fans include Jimmy Fallon, who was rocking alongside the punk trio as they performed.

How to Watch

Watch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC weeknights at 11:35/10:35c and next day on Peacock

"Leaving work and stumbled upon an impromptu Green Day concert in the subway," one office worker shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a video of the band as seen through many cameras."One of my coolest rock center moments (it was really them, I’m just really short)."

It's true: In other social media videos, Green Day members Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool are visible on the train platform at 47-50 Rockefeller Center, right underneath 30 Rockefeller Plaza. And so is Fallon, assisting on tambourine in a military jacket and aviator sunglasses.

The set was promo for Green Day's new Saviors album, out on January 19, performing a single from the release, "Look Ma, No Brains!" The four-time Grammy winners also performed three of their biggest hits, plus two covers familiar to any classic rock fan.

Soon, a sizable crowd had gathered around the band in what looks like an amazing show. Check out footage of the performance here, here, and also here.
