This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown had an awesome experience while in Singapore, hosting an award show called Earthshot Prize, which honors people who are helping the planet.

How to Watch

Watch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC weeknights at 11:35/10:35c and next day on Peacock

"I met the Prince of Wales. His Royal Highness, Prince William," Brown revealed while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on November 20.

But how would Brown describe Prince William, the founder of Earthshot? "Totally cool," Brown said.  "The Prince was awesome."

He then talked about the etiquette of meeting a Royal. "When you meet him, they tell you straight up: 'All right, you call him His Royal Highness, Your Royal Highness, or Your Highness, and after that you can say Sir,'" Brown explained. "You wait for him to extend his hand, and you shake him back. But he was so cool, man, I really like him."

Brown then demonstrated how he reacted when Prince William first walked through the door: "We all stand up, and we act pretty naturally. And they're like 'Oh, it was a false alarm. The Prince is not coming.' You're like, 'Is he coming or not?' Then you do it one more time, then he comes in, and you forget, you stick your hand out...oh! I was supposed to keep it down!"

"That was the one rule!" Fallon quipped.

"Then he'd stick his hand out, and it's cool," Brown said.

Brown returned in 2020 via video chat, where he opened up about returning to filming This Is Us, which later wrapped in 2022

"It's different, and it feels like home. You're away from it, and you're like, I wanna get back to this thing that I love. I love it so much. Not only the stories, but the people," he said.

Then, in 2022, Brown came back on the show and told a funny story about how he saw Jimmy Fallon playing guitar outside a NYC burger joint during his early days of fame. He also talked about how running into fans never gets old.

"You never get tired of people saying, 'Hey man, I love your work,'" he said.
