Chrissy Metz Made the Best 43rd Birthday Post for Her TV Husband Chris Sullivan
This Is Us's Kate and Toby are still close, even if it's off-screen.
July 19 marked the 43rd birthday of This Is Us star Chris Sullivan (Toby Damon), and his co-star and on-screen ex-wife Chrissy Metz (Kate Pearson) just gave him the best shoutout.
On Metz's official Instagram page, she made a heartwarming post, giving fans a glimpse of their antics together. The first snapshot showed Sullivan and Metz holding a cake while co-stars Mandy Moore (Rebecca Pearson), Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth Pearson) and Justin Hartley (Kevin Pearson) all smiled in the background. Then, Metz and Sullivan sat in a car while Sullivan did a dramatic reading of "In My Feelings" by Drake while using a super husky voice, somehow managing to keep a straight face the entire time.
The next pic was of Metz and Sullivan posing together on a stage in front of a drum set, and Metz wrapped up the awesome shoutout by posting a headshot of Sullivan.
"Happy Birthday to the funniest guy I know! We are all so happy you were born- Love you, Chris!!

Metz wasn't the only former co-star to give a nod to Sullivan on his B-Day. Mandy Moore also made a sentimental post on her official Instagram page, where she showed Sullivan inspecting some plants before the two got into a silly play fight. Then, in an adorable moment, Sullivan held Moore's son in his arms while sporting a big grin on his face.
"Happy Bday to one of my very favorite and funniest friends, @sullivangrams. I’m so grateful work brought us into one another’s lives and now you’re stuck with me and @taylordawesgoldsmith forever," Moore gushed in the caption.

Chris Sullivan and the This Is Us cast remain close after filming
Metz and Moore's shout outs gave fans an intimate look at the This Is Us stars' friendships after filming. On June 10, Sullivan also shared a glimpse of the cast member's connection when he posted a behind the scenes clip of him filming an emotional moment on Season 5. In the video, Sullivan's character Toby watches from his car to support Kate while she confronts an toxic ex-boyfriend, and his acting is super convincing and nuanced in the scene.
