"[He] was one of my favorite actors and somebody that I've looked up to my entire acting career," Brown said in the clip before saying that colleagues would relate Brown's acting style to Braugher's, something which Brown considered to be a major honor. He also noted he and the late actor were both Stanford alum. "People compare me to him? That's really really cool."

"[I] only got a chance to work with him one time on an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and it was awesome," he continued, referencing Season 5, Episode 14 of the show called "The Box," where Brown played a dentist who is a suspect in a murder case.

Brown also reminisced about what a rare asset Braugher was to the acting world.

"In-between takes we would just talk. We would talk about how his journey through his career has been, what he'd seen me do. He would give suggestions. Having mentorship in this industry for a Black man, is few and far between. There's not a whole lot of them out there."

Brown then went on to discuss what an upstanding person Braugher was behind the camera as well.

"He's gone too soon. More than just he was as an actor, him as an individual, as a person. Brooklyn Nine-Nine shot in L.A, and his family lives in New Jersey. And every week, he would get on a plane, and even if his scene was the last one on Friday and the first one on Monday, he would go home and he would see his family.

Braugher's acting methods weren't the only ways in which he affected Brown's life for the better. Brown also talked about how witnessing Braugher's dedication to his family helped him realize what's truly important in life.

"And as I'm going through my career, and I have these two boys and this lovely wife of mine, I remember how he valued his family and his presence in his family."

"Besides the magnificent work, he was a magnificent human being," Brown said with an assured nod.
