Who is in Apples Never Fall?

The star-stacked cast of Apples Never Fall is led by Sam Neil and Annette Bening. They play recently retired tennis coaches Joy and Stan Delaney.

Besides the dinosaur-packed blockbuster Jurassic Park, Neil is known for the films The Piano and The Hunt for Red October. His scene partner Bening has been nominated five times for an Oscar, including for her work in The Grifters, American Beauty, Being Julia, The Kids Are All Right, and the recent biofilm Nyad.

Playing the four adult Delaney children are Alison Brie (GLOW), Jake Lacy (A Friend of the Family, The Office), Conor Merrigan-Turner (Thai Cave Rescue), and Essie Randles (Speedway).

Rounding out the series regulars are Georgia Flood, who plays a mystery woman; and Jeanine Serralles and Dylan Thuraisingham, who play detectives.

“Liane’s characters are vivid, complex and the story she tells is about how those we hold dearest can hurt us the most,” executive producer David Heyman said of what viewers can expect from the individual players.

What is Apples Never Fall about?

After selling their tennis academy and leaving the racquet race behind, Stan and Joy plan to spend more time with their four grown-up children, but the arrival of a troubled young woman upends everything.

Things get more complicated when Joy vanishes into thin air — and the Delaneys’ disturbing secrets bubble up to the surface. Where’s Joy? Who’s the mystery woman? All is revealed in Apples Never Fall.

“What I admire about Liane’s work is the way she’s able to balance potent themes and narrative muscle with genuine wit,” shared Melanie Marnich, the Peacock series writer, showrunner, and executive producer, in press notes.

“She never shies away from the truly deep questions and conflicts,” Marnich added. “She also makes the journey incredibly fun.”
