In a new interview with People magazine, longtime America's Got Talent Judge Simon Cowell opens up about why he returns to the franchise year after year.

How to Watch

Watch the Season 19 premiere of America’s Got Talent Tuesday, May 28 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock

"We've met the most incredible people along the way and that's a big reason of why I love doing this show," he says. "That is what keeps me on the show. I love that part of it. I love that first Audition when you see someone's true talent and you go, 'Yeah, this is a moment.'"

He continues, "And when you see them out in the real world, doing well off the back of one of your shows, it's the best feeling in the world. That's why you go into the show every year with that feeling of anticipation, going that we could find that person again. And that's a great feeling."

Cowell will appear as a Judge on America's Got Talent: All-Stars, premiering in January. The new series will see 60 Got Talent fan favorites competing for the prized title of All-Star. On what to expect, Cowell tells People, "One of the things I said was, 'If you can't get the big names, there's no point in making the show.' And when they told me a couple of the names, I thought, 'This is gonna be brilliant'...From where we've started to where we are now, the quality of the Acts is, at times, honestly breathtaking, and just to see how they've progressed. I think they're very inspirational."

America’s Got Talent: All-Stars premieres Monday, January 2 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.
