For all its seasonal turbulence, the Windy City is a great place to celebrate the holidays, as proven by One Chicago's many must-watch holiday episodes.

How to Watch

Watch Chicago Fire Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Between the action-packed heat of Chicago Fire and the high-risk medical emergencies of Chicago Med, the One Chicago holiday episodes always manage to get the blood pumping. And, whether it's the swoon-worthy One Chicago romances or the intense realities experienced by emergency personnel during the holiday season, Chi-Hards always enjoy quality time spent with their favorite Windy City first responders.

What better way to spend the holiday season than with a a cozy cup of hot cocoa and a high-thrills One Chicago mini-marathon?

Chicago Fire Season 1, Episode 10 (“Merry Christmas Etc.")

Nothing heats up the Chicago Fire drama faster than a party. In Season 1, Episode 10 (“Merry Christmas Etc."), the party shone a spotlight on the then-budding romance between Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund). After Gabby invited Casey to her cousin's fancy Christmas party, the shenanigans led to several flirtatious moments from Gabby after she gathered up some liquid courage.

Casey ultimately put a stop to the banter to avoid making moves on Gabby while she was drunk, leading Gabby's feelings to get hurt. That put the brakes on their chemistry for a while, but it was one of the first moments to make it obvious that Gabby and Casey were heading toward romantic horizons.

The romantic tension between Casey and Gabby was an obsession for many early seasons of Chicago Fire, and the pair ultimately dated and got engaged by the third season. Whether or not their workplace romance was healthy became a bone of contention between the two, as they struggled to leave their workplace stresses at work.

Season 3's holiday episode had everything: a kidnapping, a house fire, and a massive shift in Casey and Gabby's relationship. After Gabby drunkenly admitted their that workplace romance was causing issues for them at home, Casey found himself scorned and unaware of how to proceed in the relationship. The smitten pair ultimately worked it out at the holiday festival, and the conversation set the tone for a more productive and communicative romance.

One Chicago romances often get some extra screen time during the holidays, and the Season 10's "Winterlands" is sweet enough to give the Hallmark Channel a run for its money. As Firehouse 51 geared up for the Winterfest celebrations, fans enjoyed the shocking return of Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), after she'd left to campaign for her Girls on Fire program.

No one was happier about the surprise return than Kidd's fiancé, Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), who'd been a tad worried about their upcoming wedding with his future wife on the road. Stellaride successfully rekindled their flame after a much-needed conversation about their pre-wedding jitters. Between its wholesome moments, the episode was equally packed with action, especially after Randall "Mouch" McHolland (Christian Stolte) was tasked with rescuing a civilian impaled by a Christmas tree.

Chicago Med Season 3, Episode 4 ("Naughty or Nice")

The holiday season can be an especially stressful time for any hospital's emergency room, and Chicago Med was quick to highlight those horrors in Season 3's holiday episode.

Aside from the influx of patients, the Med doctors became downright frazzled after a man dressed up as Santa Claus passed away in the waiting room. After discovering that Santa's family would be billed $16,000 for medical expenses, Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) put up a good fight against the hospital's board to make things right.

Chicago Med Season 7, Episode 9 ("Secret Santa Has a Gift for You")

The vibes were merry and bright at the top of Chicago Med's Season 7 holiday episode as we saw Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) enjoy a date at the annual Christmas tree lighting. The date turned out to be a strategic move in Halstead's master investigation into a corrupt doctor's actions at Gaffney Medical.

The emergency room was also overpopulated during this episode, and Halstead in charge of rescuing a four-month-old patient while Dr. Marcel (Dominic Rains) and Dr. Abrams (Brennan Brown) took care of a high-risk liver transplant.
