Why Blake Shelton Wanted to 'Quit' The Voice After This 3-Way Knockout
Picking a winner for this round was tough.
Blake Shelton didn't make things easy for himself for his first three-way Knockout on The Voice Season 22. The new format—which sees three Artists competing for one spot on Team Blake—raises the stakes astronomically. And we saw this fully on display during the October 31 episode, where Bodie, The Dryes, and Kevin Hawkins had a sing-off of epic proportions.
Each Artist got to pick their own song, and everyone played to their strengths. Kevin Hawkins performed "This Woman's Work" by Kate Bush, Bodie did a take on "Better Now" by Post Malone, and The Dryes did "Chasing After You" by Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd. But because all the performances were strong, Shelton found it very difficult to pick a winner—so difficult, in fact, he was tempted to "quit" the show.
"I quit," he said jokingly. "I'm quitting the show."

"After 22 seasons," Coach Camila Cabello quipped, to which Shelton said, "You three [Contestants] broke me. I quit!"
Of course, he was only kidding, but the deliberation to choose the winner of this Knockout was not easy. Shelton ultimately picked Bodie as the winner, though, and Gwen Stefani used her Knockouts Steal on Kevin Hawkins. Sadly, The Dryes were sent home.
