Snoop Dogg skyrockets to success as a West Coast rapper
Snoop Dogg broke into the music industry with a feature on Dr. Dre's “Nuthin’ But A G Thang." The collab led him to join a talented lineup of iconic L.A. Artists who helped popularize gangsta rap and "izzle-speak" in the 1990s. Snoop released his debut album, Doggystyle, in 1993, which put him atop Billboard's Hip-Hop and 200 charts.
He's since released and been featured on dozens of hit singles, including "Drop It Like It's Hot," "The Next Episode," "Murder Was the Case," and "Beautiful."
Snoop Dogg has released 19 studio albums to date, including the reggae-inspired Reincarnated, under the short-lived moniker Snoop Lion, and his most recent album BODR.
Two days following BODR's 2022 release, Snoop Dogg performed in the Super Bowl LVI halftime show, delivering a rousing set celebrating the artistry of the hip-hop genre alongside fellow icons Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem.

While making a name for himself as a prolific rapper, Snoop proved he was a multi-talented performer, as well, by branching into acting. Snoop Dogg, the football-playing philanthropist
Snoop is a lifelong football fan, and he combined his passion for the sport with his desire to help at-risk youth by starting the Snoop Youth Football League.
The league hosts 50 teams and more than 1,500 players. In 2017, it expanded to Snoop's Special Stars, a football program tailored to children with developmental disabilities. Snoop claims that over 20 of his former players have gone on to play in the NFL, making his Super Bowl performance all the more poetic.

Snoop adds Lopez vs Lopez to his expansive portfolio of guest appearances in the Season 1 finale (titled "Lopez vs Last Call"). The episode synopsis teases, "George hits the bottle as Mayan hits her limit with his behavior. Meanwhile, Rosie is drunk with jealousy when Chance announces George is his hero." The Lopez vs Lopez Season 1 finale airs Tuesday, May 9 at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.
