Chicago Med Season 8 has been full of surprises, and while fans are perched to see where things are headed, it looks like we'll need to wait a bit for new episodes.

How to Watch

Watch Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

With Jack Dayton's (Sasha Roiz) corporate interests compromising patient care, it's never been more difficult for the doctors and nurses to take care of business on the show. Between that medical madness and intertwined relationships on Chicago Med, things have been nail-biting, to say the least.

Read on to find out when new episodes of Chicago Med return.

Is a new Chicago Med episode on tonight? (March 2023)

Choi and April Get Married | NBC’s Chicago Med

All three One Chicago series will take a brief break in releasing new episodes during the weeks of March 8 and March 15, 2023. Catch up on the season now by streaming episodes on Peacock.

When will new Chicago Med episodes return?

New episodes of Chicago Med will return on March 22, 2023, with Season 8, Episode 16 ("What You See Isn't Always What You Get"). The episode synopsis reads: "Halstead and Cuevas struggle to diagnose a patient with a rare disorder; CFD and Med staff work to free a paranoid father trapped in the MRI suite; Tanaka-Reed gets an ego check." We can't wait to see how that shakes out!

Episode 17 will also be exciting because Brian Tee, the beloved actor who played Dr. Ethan Choi from Seasons 1-8, is directing. We haven't seen Choi since he resigned from the hospital to launch a mobile clinic with his wife, April (Yaya DaCosta). And while Tee won't be hanging out on camera, it's still fun to have him back for his directorial debut.

Tee took to Instagram to reflect on his time in the director's chair, posting heartwarming photos with his former co-stars. "That's a wrap... different role, same show," Tee captioned the slideshow. "Was an honor and privilege to work with all of you in front and now behind the camera. Much love to the cast and especially the crew for making this such an incredible experience... #OneLastTime. #OneChicago."

Watch Chicago Med on NBC Wednesdays at 8/7c and the next day on Peacock.
