Banished Traitor Reveals the Hardest Part of the Game: "The Most Stressful Experience of Your Life"

The Traitors' numbers are dwindling in Season 2 of the hit Peacock series. What's their next strategy?

By Caitlin Busch

This story contains spoilers for The Traitors Season 2, Episode 8, "Knives at Dawn."

As the Faithful continue to weed out the Traitors in Season 2 of Peacock's hit competition series, the official after-show, The Traitors: Postmortem, continues to sit down with the murdered and banished contestants to get their honest reactions. And the latest competitor to be ousted at the end of an episode? Survivor's Parvati Shallow, a Traitor.

Parvati's exit leaves Phaedra Parks (Married to Medicine) as the season's final Traitor — or does it? Read on to find out more.

Parvati Shallow responds to being Banished on The Traitors

"It’s so hard playing this game as a Traitor," Parvati said in Postmortem. "I had been holding so much emotion and words inside because I’m scared to say the wrong thing or if I look sideways at someone or if I laugh too much or smile too much — there’s suspicion on me constantly and I’m having to play two different parts."

Viewers know that Parvati had been holding on by the skin of her teeth for some time, with Faithful ringleader Peter Weber (The Bachelor) gunning for her exit. And while she did her best to navigate hostile waters, it wasn't enough in the end.

"Being a Traitor at the Roundtable is the most stressful experience of your life," Parvati continued. "People are attacking and you gotta be on the defense and you also have to think ... as a Faithful looking for Traitors. So there’s just a lot of different complex layers happening in the moment.

"I think I defended myself well at the Roundtable," she continued. "I answered all their questions. I was adamant that I wasn’t a Traitor. I did the best I could and lied through my little teeth and they got me."

Parvati said that, ultimately, she’s proud of how she played the game. Because, as she said, she played it as just what it is: a game! She never made it personal.

“I wanted to make sure that when I shared with them that I’m a Traitor, I wanted them to know, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad person if you’re a Traitor. It means you’re playing this game the way it’s meant to be played,” she said.

Phaedra Parks reveals why she didn’t feel the need to save "Bergalicious" from murder

Before Parvati was Banished, though, she and Phaedra managed to take one more Faithful out by delivering a death warrant to Carsten "Bergie" Bergersen.

"Parvati wanted to murder Bergie and Bergie — I love Bergie, he was a sweet young man, one of the youngest players in the house. He did a fine job," Phaedra said in Postmortem. "But I didn't debate her with that because he had gotten into the clique that was being very secretive and they really wanted to control the castle. And I don't like dictatorships. And I don't like cliques."

Throughout the season, fans were charmed by how Phaedra seemed to take Bergie under her wing, giving him his "Bergalicious" nickname. But, as she said, Bergie had fallen in with Peter's "clique," making him dangerous.

"So, when Parvati said, 'Let's get Bergie out,' I had no problems with it," Phaedra concluded.

Phaedra Parks Alone?

“I’m gonna miss Parvati,” Phaedra said in Postmortem. “Because now I’m going to be in the turret by myself and it’s very dark and scary and spooky! But she was really anticipating being Banished days ago.”

And now, at the end of Episode 8, Phaedra (the last remaining Traitor) has given Kate Chastain a choice: become a Traitor or get murdered.

Will Kate choose to join Phaedra in the “spooky” Traitors turret? Or will this be her final night in the castle?

Season 2 of The Traitors is ongoing, and new episodes are available to stream every Thursday at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. on Peacock alongside The Traitors: Postmortem aftershow. All of Season 1 is already available to watch on Peacock.
