Alan Cumming has left his Scottish castle to swing by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and talk all things The Traitors.

How to Watch

Cumming's career spans decades, appearing in everything from Goldeneye to Josie and the Pussycats and The Good Wife. He's also returning to Broadway for one night only, back at Studio 54 where he performed in Cabaret. But it's his latest gig on The Traitors that has everyone talking these days.

"I love the first season, this season is better than the first season," Fallon, a true fan of the reality show, exclaimed to Cumming during the interview. "You are on point, crazier and awesomer than you even think."

The Traitors has become a massive hit on Peacock, leading to an early Season 3 renewal. While Cumming is used to playing host (he did win a Tony for playing the Emcee in Cabaret, after all), he explained to Fallon that starring in The Traitors is next level.

"It's so bonkers," he said. "It's the campiest thing I've ever done, and that's me saying that."

Alan Cumming doesn't know who most of the Traitors are before filming

The U.S. version of The Traitors is comprised of stars from different reality franchises such as The Real Housewives, The Bachelor, Survivor, and more. Cumming said that he is not personally familiar with the cast prior to taping a season, saying he doesn't know "95% of the people who come on the show."

"I don't really follow reality shows. Then I get a crash course in them," he revealed.

"You are phenomenal, you are fantastic," said Fallon, adding that The Traitors has become the number one unscripted series across streaming

"Why I think it's so successful, is because we get to watch people lying," Cumming explained. "They are forced to lie. Some people are good at it, some are not. Some people, it pains."

The actor even gave a peek behind the curtain of filming the series.

During breakfast, when the cast arrive to find out who's been murdered overnight, Cumming is in his room getting dressed, watching from a giant screen with multiple video feeds of the morning meal.

"I feel like a James Bond villain," he said. "Sometimes I hear them talking about me."

While Cumming did share some Traitors tidbits with Fallon, what might be the biggest reveal is that he gets to keep his fabulous outfits from the show. He even mentioned how he was going to be wearing one of the coats from the series out to his East Village bar, Club Cumming, later that evening for a mini-reunion with some of The Traitors cast members.

Traitors reunion at a bar? Let's hope there aren't any poisoned chalices.

Season 2 of The Traitors is ongoing, and new episodes are available to stream every Thursday at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. on Peacock alongside The Traitors: Postmortem aftershow. All of Season 1 is available to watch now on Peacock.
