This Proposed One Chicago Spin-Off Would Feature Lots of Shirtless Taylor Kinney

Would you tune in to Chicago Lakewatch?

By Tayi Sanusi

One Chicago fans can't get enough of all the action-packed drama that happens in the Windy City. Whether it's the heroic Chicago Fire team, the fast-paced doctors at Chicago Med, or the scrappy crime-fighters that make up Chicago P.D., one thing's for certain: There's never a dull moment on these shows.

How to Watch

Watch Chicago Fire Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

So, are any new One Chicago universe shows on the horizon? There's nothing official, but fans certainly have ideas—like a show that would focus on Chicago's lakes and beaches. Chicago Lakewatch, if you will. But how does the cast feel about this potential, hypothetical show?

In response to a fan question in the above video about whether Chicago Lakewatch could ever happen, the cast let their imaginations run wild.

Chicago Fire's Hanako Greensmith (Violet) says the series would have to require some shirtless Taylor Kinney (duh). "We're probably going to have Severed shirtless, like, slo-mo running along the beach because I think that's what we all want to see," she joked.

That being said, Joe Minoso (Joe Cruz) swooped in with a crucial reality check that might get in the way of Kinney's exposed abs. "You're only 'gonna have swimwear for, like, three months out of the year, right?" he said. "Most of the time it's just 'gonna be people in, like, scuba gear. I can't imagine being by the lakeshore in the winter doing stuff in the water." He's right! Remember, Chicago is very cold most of the time!

Let's file Chicago Lakewatch featuring Shirtless Severide under "pie-in-the-sky dream" for now. But it's a fun idea, right? Maybe One Chicago creator Dick Wolf can see about filming those water scenes indoors!

Watch Chicago Fire on Peacock and on NBC.
