The Voice Coach has a winning musical career from his earliest days in the industry.

The Voice Coach Niall Horan joined the show for Season 23 and now Season 24 after enjoying tremendous success as both a solo artist and with the iconic boy band One Direction. He has been busy since the group famously went on hiatus in 2016, releasing his his full-length solo album, Flicker, in 2017, his second, Heartbreak Weather, in 2020, and his third, The Show, in June 2023.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

The multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter shared with Esquire that he still consults with his former bandmates for their views on his music.

“Not every time, but if I feel like I need an opinion, I always send it out,” Horan told the publication. “All the 1D boys and artists alike, I’ll always try and sent it around to get everybody’s opinion.”

He also said in that interview that, if he had to choose between going on the The X Factor — where he famously got his start — and The Voice today, he would go with The Voice “because his voice has gotten better.”

Horan further noted that he would have picked former Coach Blake Shelton's team.

“I knew even before I met Blake that I would get on with him, so that’s half the battle getting on with your coach,” he said. “We have similar taste in music. He’s obviously very country, but I love country music, too, and I’m a singer-songwriter that plays guitar and so is he.”
