The reveal is especially welcome after viewers have had to wait 2.5 months while the show (created by showrunner David Appelbaum) was on a midseason hiatus. However the second season returns with a two-hour, two episode event on Tuesday, January 31 beginning at at 9/8c.

While not much is known yet about the third season, we have everything you need to know—so far—about La Brea Season 3 ahead. Check back in with is in the months ahead for the latest updates.

What will happen in Season 3?

Seeing as we're barely half-way through with the current season, we don't have much to reveal about potential Season 3 plot points. Appelbaum gave away a bit of information to TV Fanatic in December.

"We have a lot of ideas for where the show could go moving forward. I've had ideas for Season 3 for a long time, but we're starting to map them out," he said.  "The end of Season 2 leaves us with several cliffhangers, which I do want to give away yet because there is a lot of show for people to watch."

However, we can fill you in on what to expect during the second season. Zea told TV Line that "an event" will lead to a major shake-up for the whole cast.

"I will spoil that there is a wardrobe change. For everyone," she said.

The actress also revealed that there's more to come for the Eve/Gavin/Levi love triangle.

"Levi is in different time and place doesn’t mean that all the problems are, too," Zea said. "Now [Eve and Gavin] have to actually confront each other about what happened and who’s to blame, who was really wronged and who was wrong. And when you’re doing that alongside [prehistoric] creatures and constant death-and-destruction, it adds to the stakes. It adds to the emotional stakes, too."

You can watch all episodes of La Brea now on Peacock.
