Tyler Labine Says He's in for a "Slow Recovery" After Sharing a Scary Health Update

"I'm counting my blessings," Labine wrote.

New Amsterdam star Tyler Labine (Iggy Frome) recently had a major health scare, but don't worry, he's alright.

On June 2, Labine took to his official Instagram page to share a video that chronicled his journey of dealing with a blood clot. In the clip, we first catch a glimpse of him riding in an ambulance with IVs in his arm, giving a thumbs up. The footage also shows him being ushered to the hospital before he took a picture of his room, and he shared a few selfies to reassure fans of his improving health.

"Sometimes it’s a Tuesday and you’re walking around with a tummy ache so you try to sleep it off," he wrote in a caption. "Then sometimes you wake up on a weds with a stomach ache so bad you decide to go to the ER at your local hospital. And then sometimes your tummy ache turns out to be a potentially fatal blood clot in your intestines and liver and you have to spend the next 3 days in the hospital trying not to die. Just sometimes."

He continued, "I’m doing alright. Slow recovery but I’m here with my family supporting me and my lovely girlfriend Martha taking care of me. Im counting my blessings and just possibly reassessing what’s really important to me in this life. Thanks everyone. SO much love. #hospital #health #life #death #love #family #girlfriend #healthy #youonlyliveonce," he captioned the post, managing to stay in good spirits.

"Brother," New Amsterdam co-star Ryan Eggold (Max Goodwin) commented in support.

Janet Montgomery (Lauren Bloom) added, "The hashtags though 😂 call me. Hope you are ok."

In January 2023, New Amsterdam wrapped up an epic five season run. In another sincere Instagram post, Labine opened up about what the show meant to him.

"To say that this show has made an impact on my life would be the understatement of the century. I have grown and lived and loved and learned and hurt and cried and lost and grown and learned some more. The last 5 years have been magical."

"New Amsterdam will forever be a centerpiece of who I am. I will miss this motley crew of folks more than I can even express. The cast the crew the writers the producers the network the studio ALL OF YOU are amazing and I consider myself lucky as hell to have been invited along for the ride. The FANS!! Oh. My. God.
