Kodi Lee Sounds Just Like Elvis Presley Singing "Blue Suede Shoes": Listen

The America's Got Talent Season 14 winner did the King proud with this cover.

By Jackie Manno

In 2020, America's Got Talent Season 14 winner Kodi Lee did an ultra blues-y cover of a classic '50s tune at an event for the Unicorn Children's Foundation: "Blue Suede Shoes" by Elvis Presley

How to Watch

Watch the Season 19 premiere of America’s Got Talent Tuesday, May 28 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock

During his performance, Lee sounded remarkably like the King, singing in a deep, Memphis-like register. He then played an impressive piano breakdown, not missing a single note. He encouraged the crowd to put their hands together, and they clapped along enthusiastically while having a blast.

About "Blue Suede Shoes" by Elvis Presley

Originally recorded by singer Carl Perkins, Presley's up-tempo version of "Blue Suede Shoes" was released in 1956 as the opening track off his self-titled debut album. "Blue Suede Shoes" by Elvis Presley lyrics

Well, it's one for the money two for the show
Three to get ready now go, cat, go

But don't you step on my blue suede shoes
Well you can do anything but
Lay off of my blue suede shoes

Well, you can knock me down, step in my face
Slander my name all over the place
Do anything that you want to do
But uh-uh honey, lay off of my shoes

A split of Kodi Lee playing the piano and Elvis playing the guitar

Don't you step on my blue suede shoes
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes
Now let's go cats (oh walk the dogs)

You can burn my house, steal my car
Drink my liquor from an old fruit-jar
Do anything that you want to do
But uh-uh baby, lay off of my shoes

Don't you step on my blue suede shoes
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes
Rock it

Well, it's one for the money, two for the show
Three to get ready now go, cat, go

But don't you step on my blue suede shoes
Well you can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes
Go cat uh

Blue, blue suede shoes oh baby
Blue, blue suede shoes uh ha
Blue, blue suede shoes oh baby
Blue, blue suede shoes
You do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes
