Keke Palmer Did Her Kamala Harris Impression—In Front of Kamala Harris

If the V.P. gave it her seal of approval, you know it's good!

Vice President Kamala Harris' viral "We did it, Joe" meme had America laughing when it circulated the web following Joe Biden's presidential win in 2020. Everyone loved it, including Password Host and star of Jordan Peele's movie Nope, Keke Palmer.

How to Watch

"Oh my gosh, [Harris'] meme is my favorite," Palmer said during a July 19 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Palmer loves that meme so much, in fact, that she did her Kamala Harris, "We did it, Joe!" impression in front of Harris herself. At the July 2022 Essence Festival, Palmer and Harris dialogued about hot-button issues plaguing Black women in America. But before their sit-down, Palmer admitted she had to take the opportunity to make the V.P. laugh by performing the impression.

"I loved it," Palmer told Tonight Show Host Jimmy Fallon. "I had to tell her, because I’m like, 'Girl! That meme!'”

Understandably, Palmer said she was a little on edge before meeting Harris. "I mean, it is nerve-wracking but just because I want to make sure that, you know, ‘OK, I’m doing my best.’ You know what I mean?" she explained. "The Secret Service was there. I was like, ‘How y'all doin’?’ I wanted to make sure I was like, ‘I’m professional. Yeah, I’m not 'gonna hurt the V.P.’"

Besides nailing celebrity impressions, Palmer has been keeping on her work grind. Like we said, she's starring in Nope, the new horror movie from mastermind filmmaker Jordan Peele. It hits theaters July 22.

Palmer is also hosting NBC's Password, which premieres August 9, 2022. The game show you know and love will see celebrities like Chelsea Handler, AGT Judge Heidi Klum, Joel McHale, Chrissy Metz, and, of course, Jimmy Fallon trying to guess phrases from one-word clues.

After the August 9th premiere, watch Password Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
