Tracy Spiridakos Just Gave a Preview on How Upton's Doing Since Halstead's Exit

Our hearts.

Halstead and Upton Say Goodbye | NBC’s Chicago P.D.

Chicago P.D. has gone through a whirlwind of changes during Season 10, but none compare to the exit of longtime fan favorite Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer). While Chi-Hards far and wide are reeling over his departure, the character that is bound to suffer the most is Halstead's partner in life (and former partner in crime-fighting), Detective Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos)

How to Watch

Watch Chicago P.D. Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Halstead left the Intelligence Unit and Chicago P.D. after a robbery went wrong, resulting in Halstead accidentally shooting a man while in the line of duty. Distraught over the chaotic events, Halstead tells Upton that he needs to take some time away from Chicago (to Bolivia for an undetermined amount of time). Halstead insists that their relationship will survive the ordeal because she is the love of his life. The scene is tear-jerkingly sad, with Upton and Halstead agreeing to work through the distance. But now that Halstead is officially gone, many Chicago P.D. fans are wondering how Upton is holding up.

Spiridakos gave viewers a small sneak peek into the answer October 19 on Instagram. "How is Upton doing since Halstead left?" Spiridakos captioned the pic. "Well, we get a little glimpse of that tonight." In the photo, we see a clearly-distressed Upton staring off into the distance in uniform. "Shellshocked" would be an apt word to describe her gaze, which likely echoes many P.D. fans' faces after they realized Halstead left the precinct.

Spiridakos previously bid a bittersweet farewell to her onscreen love on Instagram. Captioning a photo of the pair posing for the camera on set, Spiridakos wrote, "And off to Bolivia he goes….*sigh* @jesseleesoffer you’re the best. So much crying that day. Until next time Jay Halstead ❤️ #upsteadforever."

Watch Chicago P.D. on NBC Wednesdays at 10/9c and the next day on Peacock.
