Jake Lockett as Sam Carver on Chicago Fire

Lockett debuted the character of firefighter Sam Carver at the beginning of Chicago Fire Season 11. Described as "cocky," Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) wasn't too happy about Carver's new position at Firehouse 51, as they knew each other at their training academy. Kidd and Carver bash heads at first due to his arrogance, and Carver is determined to prove himself as an exceptional firefighter. In Season 11, episode 4, Kidd has to bail Carver out of jail after he gets into a drunken fight at a bar.

"Stella and Carver were rivals in school. There's friction from the moment he arrives, and Boden has a reason for bringing him in over Kidd's objections. We love this actor, Jake. He brings a lot to the character of Carver, who's a mystery. We keep calling him a man of mystery with a lot of layers to peel back," co-showrunner Andrea Newman told NBC Insider.

Carver and Randy Mouch McHolland appear in a scene from Chicago Fire.

However, Kidd started to warm up to Carver after her told her vulnerable story of how he got a scar when his brother pushed him into a fire when he was a child.
