Blake Shelton Just Pulled the Most Epic Prank on Camila Cabello

The Voice Coaches are already (playfully) feuding ahead of Season 22!

Which Coach Is Camila Cabello’s Secret “Admirer”? | NBC's The Voice 2022

The Voice Season 22 premieres Monday, September 19 at 8/7c on NBC, and longtime Coaches Blake Shelton and John Legend will be joined by returning Coach Gwen Stefani and newbie Camila Cabello. And what's the best way to welcome a new Coach? Pranking them, obviously.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

That's exactly what Shelton does to Cabello in a new ad for The Voice Season 22 that dropped on August 4. Cabello is overwhelmed to see a gorgeous "welcome" display on set for her, but she's thrown off when she finds an anonymous letter that reads, "You are going to lose so bad!"

"Who would send that?" Stefani asks Cabello.

"I can't believe you got that anonymous letter," Shelton says with a playfully devilish tone. The man clearly has something up his sleeve!

"Check out this weird letter I just got: 'You should never have come back,'" Legend says, revealing his own bizarre letter made exactly the way Cabello's was: with cutout letters from magazines.

All is revealed at the end of the ad when Host Carson Daly emerges with magazines and scissors and says, "Hey, Blake, can you please stop crafting in my dressing room?"

"Busted," Cabello says—and that he was.

Of course, it's unsurprising Shelton may be a little intimidated by Cabello coming on as a Coach. Daly said on Instagram the "Never Be the Same" singer is already "crushing it" in the role. Meanwhile, Legend told NBC Insider Cabello would be "tough to beat" this season.

"She was on Team Legend as my celebrity guest mentor, and I could tell she was really good at it," he said. "In fact, I told her, 'If a Coach opening ever comes up, you should do it because you'd be great at it.'"

September can't come soon enough! Watch The Voice on Peacock and on NBC.
