The Story Behind the Bella Twins' Prank AGT Audition That Shocked Simon Cowell

Nikki Bella certainly brought the extreme to AGT.

By Christopher Rosa

The Bella Twins took AGT by storm in the June 14th episode with their surprise prank Audition.

How to Watch

Watch the Season 19 premiere of America’s Got Talent Tuesday, May 28 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock

That's right! If you missed the episode, then you missed Nikki and Brie Bella—WWE Superstars, podcast Hosts, and general icons—dressing up as rag dolls and dancing to Britney Spears' "Toxic" in front of the AGT Judges before getting into a full-on brawl.

But it was all in good fun. You see, Nikki Bella was a Judge on America's Got Talent: Extremeand she felt a yearning to get back into the AGT action—with her sister Brie in tow.

They revealed the story behind their Audition on their Bellas podcast. "Everyone wants to know how was your experience on AGT: Extreme?" Brie asked Nikki in an episode, to which Nikki said, "I had so much fun. Everyone was pranking everyone."

It seems Nikki either missed the pranking shenanigans or didn't do enough while working on AGT: Extreme, because she then suggested to Brie, "We should prank Simon. Let's act like we're Contestants or something, right? Come up with a performance. Let's go get him."

And "get him" they did. The Bella Twins' AGT Audition started with the sisters dressed as rag dolls and doing an interpretive dance. After getting four Red Buzzers, the sisters then started pushing each other, which turned into shoving, which turned into literal body-slamming. The Judges were beside themselves, but eventually Nikki and Brie Bella revealed their identities (and the prank).

"You are very naughty, you two," Cowell said, as the sisters beamed with pride.

Watch all this for yourself in the video, above. AGT airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
