The bond between The Office co-stars Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak remains as strong as ever, with the former taking to Instagram this week to wish Novak (lovingly referred to as "Uncle B") a happy 44th birthday.

How to Watch

Watch every episode of The Office on Peacock.

Novak responded in the comments section of the social media post — which included a selfie of the two sitting in a car together — writing: "No party is as fun as the car ride home with you."

Novak is godfather to both of Kaling's two kids, Spencer and Katherine, and he takes the role very seriously. During the COVID-19 pandemic, for instance, he surprised the youngsters by dressing up as Santa Claus.

"He's very good with children!" Kaling exclaimed during a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight last August. "He literally wrote a best-selling book called The Book With No Pictures for kids. It comes very innately to him, you know, like being with children. So he's a great godfather."

Of course, on The Office, Kaling played Customer Service guru Kelly Kapoor in 158 episodes, while Novak played Dunder Mifflin journeyman Ryan Howard in 166 episodes. They both also famously wrote episodes of the long-running NBC hit.

Relive all nine seasons of The Office — now streaming on Peacock. Die-hard audience members who have made it through the entire series more than once can discover never-before-seen bonus footage in the extended "Superfan Episodes" currently spanning Seasons 1-6.
